NCMC invites community to Dinner with a Specialist
GREELEY (Feb. 11, 2011) — North Colorado Medical Center has planned speaking engagements in the Dinner with a Specialist series.
The Dinner with a Specialist events are $10 each. Pre-registration is required for each event. Register by calling (970) 350-6633. All events begin with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and presentation at 7 p.m. They are held at the Aims Corporate Center, 5590 W. 11th St. in Greeley.
- The first event features neurologist William Shaffer, MD, on Tuesday, March 1. He will talk about multiple sclerosis.
Dr. Shaffer is board certified in neurology, and completed the Sylvia Lawry Physician Fellowship program at the University of Chicago. He received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. In addition to specialized training in MS, Dr. Shaffer brings personalized insight into living with this disease as he was diagnosed with MS during his second year of medical school.
- On Tuesday, May 17, pulmonologist Rob Janata, D.O., will speak on living with asthma.
Dr. Janata is board certified in pulmonary medicine and critical care. He has practiced in Greeley for the past five years. He is the co-director of the Intensive Care Unit at NCMC. Dr. Janata completed his fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
- On Tuesday, Aug. 9, pulmonologist Kelli Janata, D.O., will give a presentation on coping with insomnia.
She is board certified in pulmonary medicine, critical care and sleep medicine. She has practiced in Greeley for the past five years. She is the medical director of the Respiratory Department and Sleep Disorders Center at NCMC. Dr. Janata completed her fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago.
