New general surgeon joins Banner Health Torrington

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (Jan. 20, 2011) – Banner Health Torrington welcomes Barbara K Miller, MD, a general surgeon who will see patients in the Medical Office Building and perform surgery at Community Hospital.

Dr. Miller is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and has more than 25 years of surgical experience. She graduated from the University of Michigan Alpha Omega Honor Society with her Medical Doctorate, and completed her General Surgery Residency at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

She comes to Torrington from Gladwin, Mich., where she practiced General Surgery as a solo practitioner. She also served Gladwin County as its medical examiner, and served Hospice of Gladwin Area as its medical director. Dr. Miller enjoys aviation and giving back to her community through several organizations. In Gladwin, she was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Rotary and was the team physician for the Mid Michigan Storm Hockey team.

“I’ve always wanted to live out West and when this opportunity to move to Wyoming presented itself I jumped at it. I enjoy the outdoors, so getting to practice medicine in Torrington where I can also hunt, ride my horses and fly my plane is very exciting.”
