North Colorado Medical Center honored as 'Banner’s Best of the Best'

 

GREELEY, Colo. (March 3, 2011) – Banner Health has awarded North Colorado Medical Center Banner’s Best of the Best Award for outstanding performance in the health care system. NCMC is the only hospital in Banner’s Western Region to receive the award.

The award is given to the Banner facilities/entities achieving the most targeted goals in Banner’s strategic initiative categories of patient care, patient safety, patient satisfaction, financial performance and employee engagement.

The award was presented to NCMC Chief Executive Officer Rick Sutton during a leadership conference held at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. The video conference was broadcast at Banner Health facilities throughout the system.

“This award is a direct reflection of the commitment by our staff, our physicians and our volunteers to make a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care,” Sutton said. “I am so proud to work with a team so focused on serving our community.”

Banner Health, a nonprofit hospital system based in Phoenix, owns and operates 23 hospitals and health care facilities in seven states: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada and Wyoming. 

In addition to receiving Banner’s Best of the Best Award, Banner Health awarded NCMC four individual honors presented for meeting and exceeding benchmarks set by Banner Health’s senior management team. Among them were awards that address: surgical care, pediatric asthma and infection rates.

Banner Health was recently recognized in Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the Top Ten integrated health systems in the nation. Banner is also recognized as a Top 10 health system in the nation by Thomson Reuters, which also was published in Modern Healthcare magazine.

NCMC is a fully accredited, private, not-for-profit facility licensed to operate 398 beds. It serves as a regional medical center with community-based and specialty services in a service area including southern Wyoming, western Nebraska, western Kansas and northeastern Colorado.
