Washakie Hospital Foundation buys blanket warmer for patients
WORLAND, Wyo. (Nov. 7, 2011)- Washakie Hospital Foundation has donated a blanket warmer to provide added comfort to patients receiving imaging tests.
The $8,000 cabinet-style blanket warmer has digitally controlled heating to assure uniform heating of blankets and patient gowns
“It is wonderful to pamper our patients with a warm blanket during their imaging procedure or provide a warm gown to a woman having a mammogram,” said Lori Nissen, radiologic technologist.
The foundation is most known for their annual Worlando Beach Amazing Race fundraising event. This fall, the third annual Worlando Beach Amazing Race received overwhelming support from local businesses, hospital employees, and team participants.
Ruth Bower, foundation member said,” I was excited to give back to our community for their generosity. Plus, show my appreciation to the many Washakie Medical Center employees who volunteer countless hours to our fundraisers, as well as the employees who make regular paycheck withdrawals to the foundation.”
Established in 1995, Washakie Hospital Foundation is led by a board of community members with a goal to raise and manage charitable donations for projects which are not part of the general operating budget of the hospital. Last year, the foundation purchased leather furniture for the main waiting room at the hospital.
Donations can be used for purchases including;
- patient equipment
- remodel or upgrade facility
