Banner Boswell Medical Center adds third hyperbaric oxygen chamber
SUN CITY, Ariz. (April 25, 2012) – Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City has added a third hyperbaric oxygen chamber in the nonprofit hospital's outpatient Hyperbaric Oxygen Center. Banner Boswell is the only provider of hyperbaric oxygen therapy in the Northwest Valley. To celebrate the new addition, the hospital is hosting a community open house from 8 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16.
"Hyperbaric oxygen therapy plays an important role in wound healing," said Shishir Shah, D.O., medical director of Banner Boswell's Hyperbaric Oxygen Center. "It was originally developed for the treatment of decompression sickness in divers in the 1960s. However, the therapy is now used to treat many other conditions, including health issues with diabetes, breast disease, oral surgery and urology."
The open house will feature tours of the center, and the opportunity to talk with Dr. Shah and the hospital's hyperbaric certified registered nurses. Light refreshments will be served.
Banner Boswell's Hyperbaric Oxygen Center is located on the second floor of the hospital at 10401 W. Thunderbird Blvd. in Sun City. Attendees can enter through the Main Lobby on the southeast corner of 105th Avenue and Thunderbird Boulevard.
Registration for the event can be made online anytime at www.BannerHealth.com/230CARE or during normal business hours at (602) 230-2273. Attendees who RSVP in advance will be entered to win a complimentary gift basket.
