Daniel Heaston, MD, orthopedics provider begins June 6
BRUSH, Colo (June 1, 2012) – The East Morgan County Hospital Specialty Clinic will be adding two orthopedic surgeons to the list of visiting specialists. Beginning June 6, Daniel Heaston, MD will begin seeing patients in Brush. Later this summer, Riley Hale, MD will begin treating patients as well. Both physicians practice at Banner Mountain Vista Orthopaedics Medical Clinic in Greeley.
Orthopedics is a branch of medicine concerned with diseases, injuries, and other conditions of the musculoskeletal system - the body’s bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves.
Dr. Heaston and Dr. Hale are both trained in sports injuries and concussions. Banner Mountain Vista Orthopaedics partners with local communities to educate the public about concussion injuries and treatment. The clinic has developed a “return to play” protocol for coaches to follow if a player suffers a concussion, and manages sports injuries for the University of Northern Colorado.
To ensure that his patients receive the customized care they deserve, Dr. Heaston discusses lifestyle, living situation, occupation and other health concerns with each patient before determining appropriate treatment. He will be in the specialty clinic on June 27, as well.
Dr. Heaston treats patients with joint issues in the knees and hip, specializing in elbow and shoulder care. Treatment may include surgical and non-surgical management of arthritis, rotator cuff, bicep tendonitis and tears, shoulder instability, sports injuries including dislocations and SLAP tears, upper extremity trauma, fractures, frozen shoulder, elbow epicondylitis and other over-use injuries, shoulder and elbow replacement procedures such as total and reverse shoulder arthroplasty, upper extremity arthroscopy, open and arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, and ligament repair and reconstruction.
He is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine, Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Heaston completed a residency at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center followed by a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle, Wash.
Dr. Hale and Dr. Heaston are dedicated to keeping your health care close to home. They will be performing surgeries in the recently expanded and remodeled operating suites at East Morgan County Hospital.
