Julie Nunley named CEO of Banner Ironwood Medical Center



PHOENIX (May 8, 2012) – Julie Nunley has been named chief executive officer of Banner Ironwood Medical Center at 37000 N. Gantzel Road in San Tan Valley, AZ.

She will assume her new duties on Monday, June 4. Nunley replaces Deb Krmpotic, who is now CEO at Banner Estrella Medical Center in west Phoenix.

Nunley currently serves as chief nursing officer at Banner Boswell, a position she has held since 2008. During her tenure at Banner Boswell, she helped guide the hospital through Joint Commission, state and federal surveys, achieve Joint Commission accreditation as a Stroke Center, and the designation of Banner Boswell in 2012 as a Thomson Reuters Top 100 hospital.

“Julie’s professional accomplishments, more than 30 years of nursing experience, leadership, attitude and skill set make her uniquely qualified to lead the Banner Ironwood team to continued success,” said Becky Kuhn, Arizona East Region president. 

Nunley has an associate degree in nursing from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, and a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
