Loveland Turkey Trot Breaks Record - AGAIN!

 

LOVELAND, Colo. (Nov. 23, 2012) --- The Loveland Turkey Trot 5K run/walk was held Thanksgiving morning at McKee Medical Center.

Warm temperatures and blue skies allowed for perfect running conditions with more than 2,300 people entering the race, the most ever for the 11th anniversary edition of this annual Loveland tradition.

More than $55,000 was raised. All entry fees and sponsorship contributions will benefit the Stepping Stones Adult Day Program at McKee. This program provides participants an opportunity to socialize, build friendships, and enjoy stimulating activities in a safe, caring environment. By tailoring activities to meet individual’s specific needs, Stepping Stones becomes a place where dignity, confidence, security and independence are assured, giving participants new levels of freedom and enhancing their quality of life.

Overall winners were: 1st Place Male: Ben Williamson with a time of 16:06; 1st Place Female: Jen Tave with a time of 17:52; 1st Place Male Masters: Ron Thomasson with a time of 18:25 and 1st Place Female Masters: Kristin Powell with a time of 19:58. 

The Fastest Team prize, for the second year in a row, went to the Cooney 3 with an overall time of 54:20. 

The Largest Team prize went to the Lucile Erwin Middle School Team awarding them the Middle School Challenge Grant of $250 to spend on wellness activities at the school. Timed results for each runner can be found at McKeeFoundation.com.
