North Colorado Medical Center's Spirit of Women program aims to build teen confidence
GREELEY, Colo. (Oct. 2, 2012) — North Colorado Medical Center’s Spirit of Women hopes to build the spirit of young women through a new series of classes.
GLAM – Girls Lead with Assertiveness and More – consists of six dynamic, interactive classes to provide enjoyable training for girls 12 to 15 years old. Spirit GLAM:
- Lays a foundation for girls to realize their potential
- Improves girls’ ability to relate to their peers
- Increases assertiveness and self-confidence
- Improves awareness of personality traits and overall health
- Introduces girls to basic financial terms and concepts.
Classes include fun activities related to all topics and a celebration on the last evening. The classes are the second Monday each month from January 2013 through June 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Classes take place in the NCMC Auditorium, 1801 16th St., Greeley. Aims Community College is a partner in presenting the program.
The fee for participation is $20 and is payable once a person has been accepted into the program. Scholarships may be available based on documented need.
