Banner Boswell Medical Center hosts Joint Club open house January 21
SUN CITY, Ariz. (Jan. 9, 2013) – Considering joint replacement? Wondering what your options are? If you’re thinking about joint replacement surgery, Banner Boswell Medical Center in Sun City invites you to a free open house of the Joint Club at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21.
The Joint Club is a special unit dedicated to the care of patients undergoing total knee or total hip replacements. Patients recover in the golf-themed Joint Club unit in an environment that emphasizes wellness, socialization, and maximizes patient recovery efforts. Experts from the Joint Club will tour visitors through the unit and therapy gym, and answer questions about joint replacement. Light refreshments will be served.
More than 700,000 total knee and total hip replacements are performed each year in the United States, helping people suffering from osteoarthritis achieve a better quality of life, free from debilitating pain. About 1,000 total joint replacement surgeries are performed at Banner Boswell every year, and more than 90 percent of patients are discharged directly to home. The decision to have any type of surgery should be discussed with both your physician and family.
