Banner Churchill Quality Manager earns certification

Samantha Stasik

Recognition ensures the gold standard in healthcare quality management
FALLON, NV (Oct. 28, 2013) — Banner Churchill Community Hospital’s Senior Quality Manager has earned the designation of Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality.

The National Association for Healthcare Quality presented the designation to Samantha Stasik. Stasik has worked at Banner Churchill Community Hospital since 2009 and began her career in the Medical Staff Services office. She has worked in quality management since 2011 and became Senior Quality Manager in October 2012.

Marlys Weberg, Director of Quality for Banner Health’s Western Region, said the certification is the gold standard for professionals who work in quality and all of the areas that fall under that umbrella including data reporting, compliance and alignment with the performance initiatives outlined by Banner Health.

“Members of the quality team analyze data about how hospitals are performing and then assist the clinical staff in designing performance improvement processes that will achieve the goals. Quality Management staff also put that information into a format that is more easily understood by hospital leaders,” she said. “Samantha has a great base with her background in the medical staff office in her work with physicians and other clinicians in rolling out new processes and best practices of care.”

Weberg said the goal for Banner Health’s quality department is for all members to earn the certification.

To earn this certification, Stasik completed 400 hours of training in statistical analysis and concepts of gathering quality data and then sat for the test which she passed on the first try.
