Banner Del E. Webb recognized as Cardiac Receiving Center
SUN CITY WEST, Ariz. (Sept. 23, 2013) – Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center is now a designated Cardiac Receiving Center providing full emergency management services to higher risk heart attack patients. The Arizona Department of Health Services accepted the nonprofit hospital’s application on Aug. 29.
In order to be recognized as an Arizona Cardiac Receiving Center, hospitals must meet seven specific criteria determined by Arizona Department of Health Services. Susan Kelley, RN, MS, NEA-BC, Chief Nursing Officer for Banner Del E. Webb said this designation is a clear statement of the hospital’s highly skilled staff in cardiac response to improve patient outcomes following resuscitation.
“I am so very proud. To provide this level of care benefits our community and assures them we can handle even the most complicated cardiac situation with expertise,” Kelley said. “It is also valuable to our Emergency Medical Service Pre-Hospital partners to know we are prepared 24/7 to receive critically ill patients.”
Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center is the sixth Banner hospital to be recognized as an Arizona Cardiac Receiving Center.
