Banner Health awards recognize Sterling hospital
Hospital receives five Banner’s Best awards for performance
STERLING, Colo. (April 26, 2013) – Banner Health presented Sterling Regional MedCenter with five Banner’s Best awards Monday, April 22 to recognize the hospital’s achievements in 2012.
The leadership team of Banner Health presented the awards via video broadcast from Phoenix to Banner Health’s 23 hospitals in seven states.
Each year Banner Health recognizes hospitals based on a scorecard with strategic initiatives. The initiatives have targets in areas of clinical excellence, patient experience, learning and financial performance. Hospitals receive Banner’s Best awards for achieving goals aligned with the strategic initiatives.
Sterling Regional MedCenter received Banner’s Best awards for:
- Pain management,
- Decreasing readmission rates for patients who have had a heart attack,
- Decreasing in readmission rates for patients with heart failure,
- Pediatric asthma care, and
- Management of sepsis cases.

The internal health system awards come on the heels of a national recognition Banner Health. In March, Banner Health was named a Truven Top 15 Health System in the nation.
