Wholehearted Health: Focus on your Heart

MESA, Ariz. (Aug. 26, 2013) — Women have the same risk as men when it comes to certain diseases and conditions like cardiovascular disease, atrial fibrillation and stroke. For women, the risk of acquiring these dramatically increases after a certain age. For example, health experts recommend women be screened for heart disease starting at age 20 since their incidence increases exponentially after age 40.

Banner Health in conjunction with Spirit of Women will host Wholehearted Health: Focus on Your Heart. This free event series will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Banner Baywood Medical Center, in the Copper Room at 6644 E. Baywood Ave., Mesa.
Cardiologist Dr. Suzanne Sorof will be the guest speaker. Dr. Sorof will talk about how you can assess your individual risk for these diseases while providing therapeutic lifestyle recommendations to improve your Wholehearted Health.

At this event, we’ll also provide healthy snacks and will have healthy recipes to help you make better food choices for you and your entire family.

Reservations for this event series are required and seating is limited. To RSVP, please call (602) 230-CARE (2273).
