Banner Health recognized as one of the nation’s most wired hospitals for 3rd consecutive year
PHOENIX, Ariz. (July 10, 2013) – Banner Health has again been recognized by Hospitals and Health Networks (H&HN’s) with the “Most Wired” award. Banner Health is a nationally recognized leader in the use of electronic medical records to make patient care safer and more efficient, and this award is further evidence of that work. Hospitals and Health Networks sponsors the annual survey and award program, which measures U.S. hospitals and health care systems on their levels of IT adoption.
This is the third consecutive year the nonprofit hospital system has received this award. H&HN’s survey and award program is considered an industry-standard benchmark, focusing on the use of IT in four main areas for organizations: Infrastructure, business and administrative management, clinical integration and clinical quality and safety. Systems must meet the criteria in each section to achieve the “Most Wired” status.
Banner Health received the same award most recently in 2011 and 2012. This year, 659 hospitals and health systems completed H&HN’s survey, representing roughly 30 percent of all U.S. hospitals, according to H&HN’s.
