Community Hospital welcomes new executive

 

TORRINGTON, Wyo. (Aug. 9, 2013) — Therese Murphy, RN, MSN, has joined the administration and staff at Community Hospital as chief nursing officer.

Murphy’s extensive medical background includes more than 20 years of service in the health care industry. She comes to Community Hospital after serving as Health Care Services Advisory Director of BSI in Reston, Virginia. During her tenure there, she was global leader of Quality Systems, and also provided strategy, vision and implementation of advisory services to the health care market. She has served as Chief Nursing Officer for Select Medical at Florida Hospital Connerton in Land O’Lakes, Fla., and for Woods Memorial Hospital in Etowah, Tenn.

“Therese’s significant accomplishments and impressive leadership skills will help Community Hospital in our ongoing mission of providing exceptional patient and service care,” said Vince DiFranco, CEO of Community Hospital. “After a national search and review of many candidates, we are very excited that Therese is a part of our team.”

Murphy has an associate of science degree in nursing from Chattanooga State Community College, a bachelor of science in nursing and a master of science in nursing from East Tennessee State University. She’s associated with the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Health Care Compliance Association, National Association of Healthcare Quality, and the American Health Quality Association.

Murphy and her husband, Mike, have been married 17 years and have four children and 13 grandchildren.
