Entertainment set for 4th annual Stars of the Season
Stone Temple Pilots to perform with Chester Bennington at fundraising event
PHOENIX (May 29, 2013) – This October, guests of the 4th annual Stars of the Season, the signature fundraising event for Banner Children’s at Cardon Children’s Medical Center, will be treated to live entertainment by rock band Stone Temple Pilots. The band recently announced the addition of Chester Bennington as its new singer.
Bennington, well-known as the front man of Linkin Park, has been a regular feature at the annual fall soirèe. Along with his wife, Talinda, the couple have been passionate and dedicated supporters of Cardon Children’s for years and are members of the Advisory Council which helps put the event together each year.
Banner Health Foundation, the philanthropic resource for the nonprofit Banner Health, will host Stars of the Season on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Montelucia Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Ariz. The goal is to raise $275,000 to enhance the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Cardon Children’s Medical Center.
In the United States, 10 to 15 percent of all newborn babies require care in a NICU. Cardon Children’s Level III NICU is one of the largest and most comprehensive in Arizona and is uniquely situated on the Banner Desert Medical Center Campus, the East Valley’s leader in high-risk obstetrics.
