McKee Medical Center named one of the‘100 Great Community Hospitals’ in the U.S
'Becker’s Hospital Review’ listing based on quality care and community service
LOVELAND, Colo. (July 1, 2013) – McKee Medical Center has been named one of the “100 Great Community Hospitals” in the U.S. by Becker’s Hospital Review, a leading hospital and health care industry trade publication. The recognition is based on quality of care and service to the community.
All hospitals included in the listing are typically located in rural areas and have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs. The list includes both independent hospitals and facilities that are part of large health systems that “provide the quality of care and experience patients expect,” according to the publication.
The Becker’s Hospital Review editorial team selected the 100 hospitals based on national rankings and awards from iVantage Health Analytics, Truven Health Analytics (formerly Thomson Reuters), Healthgrades and The Joint Commission.
“We are pleased that McKee Medical Center has been recognized as a ‘Great Community Hospital,” said Marilyn Schock, CEO of McKee Medical Center. “McKee’s quality measures consistently rank us among the best in the state and our patient experience scores routinely rank us in the top 10 percent of hospitals nationwide.”
Earlier this year, the 115-bed McKee Medical Center was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Truven Health Analytics. This distinction is based on overall organizational performance including quality patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability. North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley was also named to the 100 Top Hospitals listing.
McKee and North Colorado Medical Center also both received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™ in 2013 from Healthgrades, a leading provider of comprehensive information about physicians and hospitals. The distinction ranks the two hospitals among the top 5 percent of more than 4,500 hospitals nationwide for clinical performance as measured by Healthgrades.
