Sterling prepares for 10th Turkey Trot
STERLING, CO (Nov. 5, 2013) – Registration is under way for the 10th annual High Plains Turkey Trot to be held Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28.
Same day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, and the race starts at 8:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 104 S. Ninth Ave.
Pre-registration/packet pick up is Wednesday, Nov. 27 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Sterling Regional MedCenter Community Conference Room. Participants also can register online at Active.com or print a registration form. Those can be dropped off in the south lobby or mailed to SRM c/o Turkey Trot, 615 Fairhurst St., Sterling, CO 80751. Pre-registration ends Friday, Nov. 22.
Registration fees are $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under and free for children 5 and under. After Friday, Nov. 22, the fee increases to $25 per person. Participants who register after Nov. 22 will receive a voucher to pick up their t-shirt from Steger’s in Sterling between Friday, Nov. 29 and Friday, Dec. 6.
Proceeds from the event go to Cooperating Ministry of Logan County and Sterling Regional MedCenter patients.
In 2012, about 250 people participated. The event raised a net of $3,383.08 and split that money between the two beneficiaries.
