Banner Health garners 10 top safety grades
PHOENIX, Ariz. (June 2, 2014) – Ten Banner Health hospitals have received top grades (A’s and B’s) for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group (Leapfrog), an independent industry watchdog. Patient safety is always at the forefront of the care Banner Health delivers and this recognition reflects that quality.

The 10 Banner Health centers and their Hospital Safety Score are:

- North Colorado Medical Center (Greeley, CO): A
- Sterling Regional MedCenter (Sterling, CO): B
- Banner Thunderbird Medical Center (Glendale, AZ): A

LeapFrog’s Hospital Safety Scores are designed to rate how well hospitals protect patients from accidents, errors, injuries and infections.The public can view and compare hospital scores and access safety tips for free at http://www.hospitalsafetyscore.org/. The program is intended to give consumers information they can use to protect themselves and their families when facing a hospital stay.
The Hospital Safety Scores program is the first and only rating to be peer-reviewed in the Journal of Patient Safety.
