Community Hospital construction to start March 31
$3.1 million project to enhance patient experience
TORRINGTON, WY (March 28, 2014) – Community Hospital will undergo a $3.1 million remodel beginning March 31 until approximately October this year. During this time, Banner Health will closely focus on maintaining patient care and comfortability.
This project aims to enhance patient privacy and experience and includes remodeling about 4,500 square feet in the obstetrics area and 2,800 square feet in the monitored bed unit.
Once complete, the obstetrics area will be called “The Women’s Center” and will include two large suites designed to support labor, delivery, recovery, and post partum. The rooms will include double-sized showers and pull-out sofas for a guest. Mothers will be able to stay in the same room for the duration of their hospital visit.
The unit also will feature a new nurse’s station, nursery, triage and post-partum rooms. There will also be an operating room in the unit for Caesarean-section patients, so they won’t have to be taken to a different part of the hospital. A large family waiting area will be built just outside of the secured unit. During the time of construction, obstetrical services will be performed in another part of the hospital that has been upfitted and modified for this purpose, to maintain the comfort of the new mothers and supporting family members.
The monitored bed unit will be remodeled to accommodate three patients in a more private setting. Further improvements will allow for the addition of enhanced technology. A new nurse’s station will be added in this unit, as well.
