Clear Channel Phoenix to Hold Second Annual Radiothon for Banner Children’s
PHOENIX, AZ (Jan. 21, 2014) – Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Phoenix today unveiled Project for Kids, its second annual radiothon and fundraising event for Banner Children’s. The five-hour live broadcast will enlist community support for pediatric healthcare programs at Banner Children’s, and will air on all eight Clear Channel Phoenix radio stations from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.
On-air personalities from each Clear Channel Phoenix station (104.7 KISS-FM, 102.5 KNIX, MIX 96.9, 99.9 KEZ, 95.5 The Mountain, 550 KFYI, FOX Sports 910 and 1230 The KFYI Business Channel) will broadcast live from Chandler Fashion Center alongside physicians, caregivers, patients and families from Banner Children’s. Throughout Project for Kids, listeners will hear first-hand accounts of Banner Children’s lifesaving care and pediatric programs, which are made possible through the generosity of the Phoenix community.
“Clear Channel Phoenix is dedicated to strengthening its listening community, and we’re thrilled to host Project for Kids to provide children with access to the best quality healthcare,” said Scott Hopeck, President and Market Manager of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment Phoenix. “Project for Kids is an amazing opportunity for Clear Channel to engage its listeners who have been or will be touched by Banner Children’s, and gives the community a chance to support a remarkable organization that serves more pediatric patients than any other hospital system in the greater Phoenix area.”
More than $76,000 was raised in the inaugural Project for Kids radiothon, which supported an array of pediatric healthcare programs and services at Banner Children’s. Philanthropic support will provide access to neonatal intensive care units for fragile patients, pediatric emergency departments that cater to kids and comprehensive programs dedicated to pediatric cancer, heart and rehabilitative care.
“In the world of healthcare, the impact of philanthropic support often means the difference between a good experience and a great one,” said Andy Kramer Petersen, president and CEO of Banner Health Foundation, the philanthropic resource for Banner Children’s. “We rely on support from those who recognize the power of giving and Project for Kids is a testament to the impact of partnership, awareness and generosity. We’re fortunate to have the support of Clear Channel Phoenix and its loyal and generous listeners.”
