Dr. Kathleen Kuhlman

GLENDALE, Ariz. (October 3, 2007) —Banner Thunderbird Medical Center welcomes Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist Kathleen Kuhlman, M.D., FACOG (Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) to its Women and Infant Services department.

Dr. Kuhlman brings a plethora of expertise in the areas of fetal ultrasound and genetic procedures, including 3-D ultrasound for fetal malformations and sonohysterography.  Dr. Kuhlman has relocated to Phoenix from Philadelphia, where she was an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Drexel University College of Medicine, and the director of the Center for Reproductive Ultrasound. Dr. Kuhlman joins Phoenix Perinatal Associates and has been appointed Medical Director of the newly-created Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center.

As a full-time clinician, educator and clinical researcher, Dr. Kuhlman is a recognized expert in ultrasound.  She created the Philadelphia area’s first program for sonohysterography and 3-D ultrasound in the fetus, presenting research and lecturing nationally. In addition, she brings cutting-edge diagnostic ultrasound and prenatal diagnostic procedures to the communities Banner Thunderbird serves.

Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology as well as maternal-fetal medicine, Dr. Kuhlman is a member of many local and national medical societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.  She was recognized as a “TOP DOC” by Philadelphia Magazine (2002) and is recognized nationally in the “Who’s Who in Medicine”.
