Two cardiologists join North Colorado Medical Center

 

 

GREELEY, Colo.  (July 28, 2008) – North Colorado Medical Center welcomes two new cardiologists to the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado.

Arnold Edward Pfahnl, MD and Ph.D., has moved to Northern Colorado from Florida. He will see patients in Greeley, Wray, Yuma and the new CardioVascular Institute clinic in Loveland scheduled to open Sept. 2.

Dr. Pfahnl earned his undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, and completed medical school at University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Fla.

He completed a clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Fla., and a cardiology fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He also completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital.

Dr. Pfahnl has extensive research experience and has been published in a number of medical journals.

Lin-Wang Dong, MD and Ph.D., is coming to the CardioVascular Institute from the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. He is seeing patients at the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado at North Colorado Medical Center as well clinics in Holyoke, Sterling, Brush and Ft. Morgan.

Dr. Dong earned his medical degree from NeiMengGu Medical College in China and has earned a master’s of science degree in cardiovascular physiology and a P.h.D. in cardiovascular physiology and pathology. He completed his internship and residency at Capital Health System, Helene Fuld Medical Center in New Jersey and fellowships in cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging both at the University of Colorado Hospital.
He has worked as a research assistant professor in cardiovascular pharmacology for the St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.

Dr. Dong also has extensive research experience and has been published in several medical journals.

The CardioVascular Institute will open a new clinic in the Seven Lakes Physicians Plaza at McKee Medical Center, 1900 N. Boise Ave. CardioVascular Institute cardiologists diagnose and treat several heart conditions including congestive heart failure, hypertension, peripheral vascular disease, angina and heart attack. Through the cardiologists, patients have access to the latest in proven heart treatments.

Dr. Pfahnl and Dr. Dong join a team of highly experienced professionals who have set the standard for heart care. The CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado at North Colorado Medical Center has been recognized as among the best in the nation for heart attack care.
