Alzheimer's Prevention Initiative in the News

The Banner Alzheimer's Institute is collaborating on the first-ever study of an experimental drug that is hoped to stop Alzheimer's before it starts.
The study, a partnership between BAI, Genentech and National Institutes of Health and other research leaders, is the cornerstone of a new international collaborative, the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative (API).

The study will involve about 300 participants from Colombian families who share a rare genetic mutation that typically triggers Alzheimer’s symptoms around age 45. The study will also include a small number of individuals in the United States.
