Another area that is rapidly expanding is Point of Care (POC) technology for performing bedside testing in critical situations, giving immediate results to the attending physician; this is presently found in all Banner Health hospitals. The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) support us by tracking the results, quality control, critical values and interfacing of the different instruments. Computerization within the Banner Health laboratories is consistently on the cutting edge with autoverification and Electronic Medical Record interfaces, allowing you to focus on what you do best.
