Banner National Allied Health Scholar Program

The Banner National Allied Health Scholar Program is a program that gives allied health students education assistance and a future at one of Banner Health’s facilities. The program is great for you because it can give you the education assistance you need to finish your allied health program; it’s also great for Banner Health because it ensures that our hospitals will have an available resource for qualified Respiratory Therapists, Medical Imaging Technologists, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech/Language Pathologists.

Dates:
Applications accepted July 31 - Sept. 15 for the Fall semester. Interviews and award notification will occur within 30 days after close of application period.

Eligibility:

  • Be a student in your last 4 semesters in an accredited degree program in one of the following specialties: Respiratory Therapist, Medical Imaging, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech/Language Pathologist.
  • Maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and remain in good standing with the school.
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Non-benefited Banner Health employees may apply

Program Details:
The program provides a maximum award of up to $1,800 per recipient per semester and you can apply each semester for a maximum of four (4) $1,800 awards ($7,200). The amount of the award is dependent upon submitted receipts for tuition, books, and fees. In exchange, you will sign an agreement promising to work for Banner Health full-time as an Allied Health professional following your graduation from school. The period of time you will promise to work for Banner Health will correspond to the total award you receive.

  • Up to $3,600 total award
    Two-year full-time employment commitment after graduation from the allied health school
  • $3,601 - $7,200 total award
    Three-year full-time employment commitment after graduation from the allied health school

Applicants are required to submit:

  • Completed Banner National Allied Health Scholarship Application (PDF)
  • A one-page summary of why you chose your allied health path and your career goals
  • Current enrollment verification
  • Current transcript, including your GPA
  • Two letters of reference
  • Receipts to support expenses for tuition, books, fees and qualified supplies. Receipts for eligible expenses must be within 12 months of application. (NOTE: There are restrictions for what qualifies as eligible supplies).
