Periop 101 –40 CEUs
- Clinical Rotations
At the conclusion of Didactic portion of the course, the Periop Intern will return to their facility and enter a clinical rotation in partnership with a preceptor in a perioperative area. The precepted clinical experience, including both Scrubbing and Circulating time, while facility specific will typically be a minimum of 4 months or until sufficient experience has occurred to develop the skills needed to function independently at each facility. Smaller facilities, with a smaller variety of cases, may need less precepted clinical time.
*Non-Banner employees will need to make arrangements for clinical days in their facility.
Note: This program provides only an introduction to the specialties. The Intern’s precepted clinical experience is critical to skills development. Further education and experience will be needed to develop competency in these areas.
