Banner Community Nursing Education Assistance Program

The Banner Community Nursing Education Assistance Program gives nursing students both immediate education assistance and a future at one of Banner Health's Arizona facilities. The program is great for you because it can give you the education assistance you need to finish your nursing program; it's also great for Banner Health because it ensures that our facilities will have qualified nurses for the future.

Applications Accepted 12/8/08 - 1/12/09 7/13/09 - 8/14/09 12/7/09 - 1/11/10

 

Eligibility:
To apply for the program, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • You are not currently an RN, have completed all of your pre-requisite courses and have been accepted into a full-time, accredited nursing program
  • Maintained a GPA of at least 2.0 and remained in good standing with the college or university you are attending
  • If you are a Banner Health employee, you must be in a non-benefit eligible position
  • Be eligible to work in the U.S

 

Program Details:
The program provides a maximum award of $1,500 per recipient per semester, and you can apply each semester for a maximum of four (4) $1,500 awards ($6,000 total). The amount of the award is dependent on submitted receipts for tuition, books and fees. In exchange, you will sign an agreement promising to work for Banner Health as a registered nurse following your graduation from nursing school. The period of time you will promise to work for Banner Health will correspond to the total award you receive.

  • Up to $2,500 total award
    1 year full-time employment commitment after graduation from nursing school
  • $2,501 - $4,000 total award
    2 year full-time employment commitment after graduation from nursing school
  • $4,001 - $6,000 total award
    3 year full-time employment commitment after graduation from nursing school

 

Applicants are required to submit:

  1. Completed Banner Community Nursing Education Assistance Application (PDF) 
  2. Receipts to support expenses for the semester
  3. Two letters of reference from faculty and/or employers
  4. Evidence of enrollment in the nursing program and current GPA
  5. Minimum 300 word essay describing interest and commitment in becoming a nurse

Previous award recipients need only submit:

  1. Application
  2. Evidence of current GPA
  3. Current registration verification
  4. Receipts to support expenses
