Volunteer/Banner Hospice
Audio: “What I get out of volunteering is it really gives me a sense of a good feeling to be able to come in and help – help the staff, as well as be of help to the patients and the family members. And also, I have – it has helped me to define my career goals. I recently went back to school as a social worker, to be a – to get my master’s in social work. And I wasn’t quiet sure what area of social work I wanted to go into, but being at the hospice facility has helped me to make that decision that I want to be a hospice social worker.
When I was looking around to – to where I wanted to volunteer at, I was looking at the mission statements and what they were.”
Text: “We exist to make a difference in people’s lives through excellent patient care.”

Audio: “Banner has a very simple, but powerful, mission statement and that is exactly what attracted me to volunteer at Banner. If someone approached me and wanted to know about volunteering, I would let them know that first of all it’s a good thing to do and I don’t know, maybe I could just give them some ideas of where to volunteer, you know, where they will spend their time finding out exactly what they want to, you know, what it is they’re interested in doing. It’s really an awesome feeling to be able to volunteer and to help someone out.”
