Volunteer/Banner Hospice
Audio: “I volunteer with Banner Hospice so primarily I’m out at the client’s house throughout the valley—anywhere from west valley to east valley. And I just hang out with the – with the clients and talk with them or make them lunch. Allow the care giver to have a break.
For someone that’s considering to be a volunteer for hospice, I would tell them it’s just – it’s rewarding to give back. You know, these people have done a lot for us over the years. Just satisfaction of seeing what – what these prior generations have done; I think there’s a lot for us to learn these days from people that have – that have done a lot and it’s just rewarding.
I learn from these people through talking and interacting. They’ve had children, they’ve done things, they’ve got ideas, they’ve experienced life and that sort of thing. So I think it offers a great foundation for yourself to learn whether it humbles you, whether you get something from it or you just go away really appreciating what you have.”
