Banner Olive Branch Senior Center
She started coming by for the $3.50 lunches. The meals reminded her of the food she used to eat around the family dining table. The meals were great but what she really prized was the company of other friendly seniors.
For more than 20 years, the nonprofit Banner Olive Branch Senior Center has been providing warm meals and loving concern to the seniors of the Sun Cities.
- Banner Olive Branch Senior Center, started as a food delivery program with a loaned Chevy, distributes food to more than 12,000 seniors, children and homeless families.
- With award-winning chefs, the center prepares more than 65,000 meals per year.
- The nationally known center delivers more than 30,000 meals to homebound per year.
- We also offers other programs helpful to seniors:
- The only West Valley program for the visually impaired that teaches independent living skills
- Senior Employment program
- Provides free legal counseling
- The Banner Olive Branch Senior Center's nearly 300 volunteers clocked in more than 44,300 hours in 2008.
- Our kitchen receives gold stars in every inspection from the county Health Department.
A $100 donation could provide 90 meals to seniors in our dining room or homebound/frail elderly. For many the only meal they eat on a daily basis is the one provided by the senior center.
