E-mail Currently in the United States, over 18 million people of all ages, races and backgrounds have diabetes. Unfortunately, this number is expected to grow exponentially over the next 10 years. Because the disease is growing at such a rapid rate, there is a great need for diabetes education, and awareness on controlling the disease and lowering the risk of complications.
The Fairbanks Diabetes Center provides education to individuals with diabetes and teaches ways for them to manage the disease. We partner with doctors to promote the health of these individuals and to support the achievement of targeted self-management goals.
We also provide education and nutritional counseling for individuals at risk for diabetes to help prevent and delay the development of the disease.
The Fairbanks Diabetes Center offers the following:
- Diabetes self-management education
- Gestational diabetes education
- Pre-diabetes education
- Nutritional education and counseling
- Other patient education topics
Appointments are made through your healthcare provider with Central Scheduling (458-5588). Because insurance policies differ, please check with your insurer prior to your appointment to determine if our services are covered.
