Cancer Services at the J. Michael Carroll Cancer Center
The J. Michael Cancer Center provides all aspects of cancer care and offers integrated programs in cancer diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, education programs and prevention. Experienced physicians and staff administer cancer treatment such as chemo and radiation therapies.

The J. Michael Carroll Cancer Center is nationally recognized:
- The first accredited cancer care program in Alaska. The Center provides integrated programs in cancer diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, education programs and prevention for all types of cancer.
- The only facility in Alaska to be National Accreditation Program of Breast Centers accredited through the American College of Surgeons. This achievement assures our patients and our community they are receiving quality breast care from a multidisciplinary team of professionals with a full range of state-of –the-art services close to home.
As an extension of the hospital’s cancer care services, the Fairbanks Imaging Center provides an array of diagnostic services that aid in cancer screening, detection, diagnosis and treatment. The 57,000-square-foot imaging facility is conveniently connected to the hospital by an indoor walkway.
As a participant in Oncology Data Management, Fairbanks Memorial provides lifetime patient follow-up to help physicians improve care and better understand the cancer-care process. Through the registry, information including patient demographics, cancer identification, treatments and outcomes is collected, analyzed and forwarded to medical professionals at the local, national and global levels.
