Charter:The Auxiliary began in 1969 at St. Joseph's Hospital with 57 Charter Members.
Mission:The mission of the Auxiliary is to provide services to the hospital and Denali Center and its patients or residents.
Membership:Membership is open to all who wish to contribute to the Auxiliary mission. Youth (ages 14-17) join as Junior Volunteers and adults (ages 18 and older) join as adult members. All volunteers at FMH/DC must be members of the Auxiliary. The Auxiliary currently has more than 250 members and donates over 1,000 hours of service to FMH/DC monthly.
Dues:Auxiliary membership dues are $5 per year for adult volunteers and are payable each year in April, or upon joining the Auxiliary (dues are never paid twice in a single calendar year). Payment of $100 signifies a lifetime membership. Lifetime members are not required to pay any additional dues.
Elected Board:The Auxiliary has an elected Board of Directors which meets the third of each month. Auxiliary members are welcome to attend as non-voting members.
Membership Meetings:The annual membership meeting is held each year in April and all active volunteers are encouraged to attend. Service awards are presented at this time.
Equipment:Any income generated by Auxiliary services (gift shop, baby photos, etc.) is used to purchase equipment for FMH/DC or to enhance the services that the Auxiliary provides to the facility.
