Volunteer Application Process

To become a Fairbanks Memorial Hospital/Denali Center volunteer, you must be at least 14 years old and submit a completed application to:

The application process includes the following:

• Application screening
• Verification of references
• Background check
• Fingerprinting (16 years of age and older, conducted at volunteer orientation)
• Informal interview with the Volunteer Services director to determine your interests, training and availability
• Participation in an orientation where confidentiality, dress code and safety information are reviewed
• Payment of Volunteer Services membership dues ($5 per year for adult volunteers)
• Proper uniform, ID badge, parking pass and necessary health screenings
• Placement based on preferences and schedule. Every effort is made to provide you with a rewarding volunteer experience
• Meeting with department director
• Training with an experienced volunteer in your department
