Our mission is to support Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Denali Center and the continuum of care.
More than 100 volunteers perform a wide range of services in nearly all areas of the facility benefiting patients, residents, employees and visitors.
Whether you are interested in volunteering to gain experience or to give back to your community, we would love to have you as part of our team.
Our volunteers play a valuable role in providing excellent patient and resident care to our family and friends in the community. Our volunteers range in age from 14 to 90 years old.
Learn about our many volunteer opportunities by contacting the Volunteer Service at (907) 458-5595. The Volunteer Services Director can answer questions and send you an application or you can download one now (PDF).

Here are a few of our many volunteer opportunities:
- Gift Shop:
Volunteers in the gift shop provide a warm and welcoming shopping experience to visitors, patients and staff. Volunteers provide customer service, operate the cash register and stock shelves.
- Outpatient Surgery Information Desk/Main Lobby Information Desk:
Volunteers at the Outpatient Surgery and Main Information desk greet patients and visitors, provide general information and give directions.
Acting as an ambassador of the hospital, the outpatient volunteer is a liaison between the outpatient areas and their waiting family members, while the main lobby volunteer is more oriented to serving the general public.
Volunteers in these positions must be able to successfully provide customer service to the public, and work closely with the admissions staff.
