Atrial Fibrillation

Treatment for atrial fibrillation is available at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix in Arizona. The Cavanagh Heart Center at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix, has a nationally recognized team of atrial-fibrillation specialists.

Patients from across the Southwest come to the Cavanagh Heart Center in Arizona for our expertise in performing complex heart ablation  and Maze heart procedures to correct atrial fibrillation, also known as Afib.

Afib is the most common type of irregular heartbeats. If you have atrial fibrillation, you experience a rapid heartbeat when certain parts of your heart contract quickly in an irregular pattern. Atrial fibrillation can cause your heart to work harder than normal and limit the amount of blood it supplies to the rest of your body.

The Cavanagh Heart Center team is part of a national Stop-AF Trial to test the effectiveness of cryoballoon ablation for Afib.

Cavanagh Heart Center electrophysiologists perform a high volume of cases each year. Physicians from other parts of the country come to Cavanagh Heart Center to learn new procedures and techniques from our electrophysiology experts.
