Banner Baywood Medical Center's new Emergency Department takes shape

With a roof, rough wall and air handlers in place, Banner Baywood Medical Center’s new $38.5 million Emergency Department is really taking shape.

Construction crews have been working diligently to finalize interior framing and finish placing piping and conduit in the ceiling, all necessary elements for a state-of-the-art medical facility. And, with exterior materials being put in place, the building is steadily evolving from a cage of iron and steel into a beautiful structure.

Once complete, the new ED will feature 54 private patient rooms complete with bedside computers for electronic charting and a host of guest amenities including flat-screen televisions. The unit’s first patients are expected in the fall.
