Social Workers and Case Management
Cancer survivors, families and caregivers benefit from a range of therapeutic and care management services such as:
- Supportive counseling
- Group work
- Education
- Access to community resources
- Information about government programs, including financial counseling.
Oncology social work services work to help people cope and adapt to cancer and its effects. These services are available throughout the cancer continuum, including prevention, diagnosis, survivorship, end-of-life care and bereavement. Individual and family counseling are offered to cancer patients, families and friends affected by a cancer diagnosis.
Oncology social workers are members of the Association of Oncology Social Workers and licensed by the State of Arizona to provide counseling services. Their education has been completed at a Masters level in a university setting.
