Tumor Board conferences are held biweekly to review cancer cases that were diagnosed or treated at Banner Baywood.
The board is an interdisciplinary team composed of surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, primary care physicians, other specialties, oncology nurses, clinical research specialists, care coordinators, social workers, pharmacists and a program administrator.
All are charged with discussing each case and making a recommendation together for the best treatment of each cancer patient.
The first half hour of each Tumor Board meeting is dedicated to a breast conference. Breast cases diagnosed or treated at Banner Baywood Medical Center are reviewed at this time. Our interdisciplinary team and professionals specializing in breast diagnostics and treatment attend this session.
