Living well with diabetes means learning to properly balance diet, medication and exercise. Our team of professionals offers comprehensive, individualized education programs to teach people with diabetes and their families how to effectively manage the disease and to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle. Nutritional Services
We all know that nutrition plays a vital role in our overall health. At Banner Baywood Medical Center, we focus on providing you with high quality, nutritious meals, as well as the expertise of clinical dietitians to assess your nutritional status and provide therapeutic interventions when needed. Clinical nutrition staff members are available for your inpatient needs seven days a week. Ask your nurse or physician for a referral. Upon physician referral, Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy is also available Monday through Friday by appointment. Call (480) 321-4516.
Complementary Medicine
Complementary medicine is a holistic approach to healthcare that treats the whole person, recognizing that every aspect of life contributes to healing. A goal of this program is to bridge the gap between traditional and alternative medicine. We provide individual consultation, massage therapy and group classes. Call (480) 321-4340.
Spiritual Care
Banner Baywood believes total care encompasses spiritual well-being, as well as the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families. A chaplain is available 24 hours a day for those who wish for spiritual aid and comfort. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and meditation. "Care Notes" on many subjects of physical, emotional and spiritual interest are available in the family waiting rooms. The chapel is located on the second floor near the family waiting room. Social Services
Often a patient's needs extend beyond the walls of the hospital. Our Social Services representatives can assist with social, emotional and financial problems resulting from hospitalization and smooth the transition to any continued care that might be needed. They also work with patients and their families to help deal with long-term illness and rehabilitation and are also involved in discharge planning. Call (480) 321-4245.
