The Villa Staff is committed to providing quality care to those with alcohol and/or other drug addictions. Addiction is a condition that leads to misunderstanding, frustration and hopelessness. Because addiction effects every aspect of a persons life, The Villa takes a bio/psycho/socio/spiritual approach and includes attention to relapse prevention. A safe, structured and supportive environment is provided to assist residents in developing a healthy, satisfying, sobriety-based lifestyle. Many of our therapists are Master level, State-certified, in recovery and/or familiar with 12-step programs.
The Banner Behavioral Health Hospital campus is a beautiful location in central Scottsdale and features a pool, volleyball and basketball courts, a ropes course, with an expansive green lawn, many trees, and areas for relaxation and meditation.
Groups and Services
12 Step Meetings
Because the solution to the disease of addiction includes becoming fully functional in 12 Step Recovery, AA, CA and NA meetings are included in treatment to begin and maintain the recovery process.
Education
The educational curriculum provides information on the bio/psycho/socio/spiritual components of addiction along with relapse prevention. It includes education on addiction as a disease; craving management skills; self-esteem enhancement; feelings management; effective communication; 12 Step education and spirituality. The goal is to teach the skills and provide the tools necessary for lifelong recovery.
Group Therapy
Therapy groups are solution oriented and focused on identifying and implementing sobriety-based coping skills to address personal issues. Groups provide the opportunity to identify and process patterns of emotions, relationship issues and significant life events. Emphasis is placed on developing a greater understanding of the relationship between theses factors and efforts to maintain sobriety. Groups are facilitated by certified Masters Level Therapists familiar with 12 Step Recovery.
Family Program
The disease of addiction harms those who have it, hurts their loved ones and damages the relationships between them. With appropriate, supportive guidance, healing can occur. Relationships can grow and to be healthy and satisfying. Loved ones are strongly encouraged to participate in the week-end family program. This consists of education on addiction and 12 Step Recovery along with process groups to address communication skills, relationship expectations and other significant issues pertinent to individual situations. An Alanon meeting is provided to familiarize loved ones with the 12 Step recovery process and to afford them the opportunity to benefit from their own recovery program. The Family Program is facilitated by Certified Masters Level Therapists.
Relapse Prevention
In addition to the attention given to relapse prevention during treatment, an Alumni Group is available twice a week. Upon graduation from The Villa, this group is offered at no additional charge to graduates and their loved ones for continuing support as a supplement to the 12 Step Recovery Program. The group is attended by The Villa Alumni and led by senior peers who have maintained their sobriety based lifestyles and provide living evidence of the rewards of recovery.
Case Management
Each resident is assigned a case manager to assist the individual in developing a treatment plan specific to their individual needs. The case manager monitors the residents progress in treatment and uses these observations along with input from the resident to develop an appropriate discharge plan. This plan will be designed to maximize the opportunity for lifelong recovery. Case Managers are Certified Masters Level Therapists familiar with 12 Step Recovery.
