What you should expect - Adult Care
Banner Behavioral Health Hospital offers treatment for adults ages 18 and older in their Saguaro and Kachina units.
During the admission process, patients will complete registration paperwork and are asked to read and sign a commitment to follow the patient handbook. The handbook will help familiarize you with the unit routine and serve as a reference during your stay. You will then have a brief physical assessment before nursing staff orient you to the unit and the program.
The inpatient program provides a structured living environment, support and continual supervision by trained staff. You will be provided with a daily schedule which provides individual and group treatment as well as opportunities for relaxation, recreation and free time for journaling, reading, phone calls and seeing visitors. Patients are encouraged to include family/significant others over the age of 18 years in our family program. Your physician will direct care and provide any prescribed medications.
All patients on the unit are expected to maintain proper hygiene, complete all assigned responsibilities and take medications.
Should you wish for staff to release information to specific family members or friends via phone or in-person, you must sign an "Authorization to Release Information” form.
Visitors must be 18 years of age and older and are welcome on the unit from 6-8 p.m. daily.
Phone calls can be placed and received from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. except during treatment. As these are shared patient phone lines, calls should be kept brief.
