Our goal is to prevent further damage, help manage your condition and, when possible, improve your heart's function.
While heart failure is a chronic, lifelong disease, taking the right medications can help you live longer and enhance your quality of life. Your doctor will likely prescribe a combination of medications tailored to your specific diagnosis.
Treatment options will depend on a number of factors including the cause and severity of your condition and your overall health. Your diagnosis and treatment may include one or more of the following:
- Angioplasty (balloon pump)
- Stent implantation
- Pacemakers
- Loop recorders
- Transesophageal echocardiograms
- Cardioversions
When required, surgical procedures are provided at nearby Banner Boswell Medical Center.
Healthy lifestyle
Heart-failure patients can help take charge of their health through better lifestyle choices, such as lowering salt intake, staying active and quitting smoking. The cardiac rehabilitation team combines education on modifying risk factors with a medically supervised fitness program.
