Progressive Care
The Progressive Care (Telemetry) units at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center help ease a patient’s transition from Intensive Care to recovery.
If a patient is moved to a Progressive Care unit it means their physicians and other caregivers have decided they are progressing well.
Progressive-care patients require less additional oxygen, are usually eating and can increase their activity levels. They no longer need intensive bedside monitoring and one-on-one nursing (provided while in Intensive Care).
While in this unit, each patient will learn about medications, diet, physical activity limitations and instructions to follow at home. In most cases, when patients leave the Progressive Care Unit, they will be going home and may be referred to a rehabilitation center or an outpatient care program.
