Events at Banner Desert Medical Center
Banner Desert Medical Center recognizes the importance of being a good community partner and offers many interesting, informative and compassionate events to improve the health of our neighbors.
In conjunction with the American Heart Association, Banner Desert is offering free stroke screenings during National Stroke Awareness Month. The Stroke Check community screening program is designed to educate people who may not know they are at risk of stroke. People currently under the care of physicians for stroke, mini-stroke or TIA should instead continue care with their own physician. Activities vary by hospital but may include completion of a written stroke risk assessment, blood pressure and pulse screen, glucose screen (4-hour fast is recommended) and the opportunity to talk with clinical experts.
