Banner Desert is 'most preferred' hospital in metro Phoenix

July 3, 2007 -- Phoenix metro consumers have once again selected Banner Desert Medical Center as their most preferred hospital for their own health care, according to the most recent consumer preference and brand awareness survey results.

Surveys by CC Intellect are done bi-annually and include three audiences: Banner patients, patients at competitor hospitals and Banner employees. For the Winter 2006 survey, 11.3 percent of respondents answered Banner Desert Medical Center to the question ‘Which one hospital do you prefer for your own health care?’

That is up from 11.1 percent in the Summer 2006 survey. Preference was up slightly for Banner hospitals overall, with Banner Thunderbird getting 9 percent of the responses and Banner Good Samaritan getting 8 percent.

In the East Valley, Banner Desert is by far the most well known hospital. When asked ‘What hospital, in your area are you aware of?’ 11.2 percent of those surveyed said Banner Desert. The next closest were Banner Baywood at 8.5 percent and Chandler Regional at 7.3 percent. In the past two years, Banner’s Brand Awareness campaigns have focused on Cardiology, Cancer Care, Pediatrics and Women’s Services.
