Sibling Adjustment class for Big Brothers & Big Sisters
MESA, Ariz. (Sept. 1, 2008) -- Welcoming a new baby into the family is certainly exciting, but it can also be very stressful—especially for the littlest member in your family. Attend Sibling Adjustment at Banner Desert Medical Center, a program designed to help parents recognize, respond and guide the transition of their growing family.
The Women’s Center regularly offers a new sibling adjustment class in the Rosati Education Center on the hospital campus at 1400 S. Dobson Road in Mesa. The program is designed to help siblings ages 2-10 prepare for the arrival of a new baby.
Banner Desert’s Childbirth Educators are creating an event that will be fun and educational for kids, and valuable for parents. As part of the fun, kids will read a story, make a craft and pack up baby supplies for their new brother or sister. They also will learn what a new baby looks like and what to expect, how to be a helper, and how to make friends with the baby. Parents will get tips for dealing with their children’s behavior.
Snacks are provided. The program is $20 and seating is limited. Call (602) 230-CARE (2273) to register for a future class.
