Technology
The Banner Desert Cancer Center offers the East Valley's most comprehensive range of technologically advanced cancer detection and treatment options, including:

  • The Trilogy Stereotactic System: External-beam radiation therapy delivers tightly focused and shaped radiation beams with unmatched accuracy. Doctors can treat small lesions and tumors close to vital structures while avoiding or minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
  • A new dedicated high-dose rate brachytherapy suite and a wide-bore CT Simulator Scanner: Brachytherapy is an internal radiotherapy frequently used for breast, prostate, gynecological and lung cancers. The technology feeds radiation into a tumor through a catheter, destroying the tumor from the inside. Cancer can be treated in days, not weeks.
  • Other innovative treatment options include: SIR Sphere internal radiation, cryoablation, radiofrequency ablation, chemoembolization and the da Vinci Surgical Robotic System to remove prostate and gynecological cancers.

Expert Care
Banner Desert has a dedicated inpatient and outpatient unit with specially trained nurses. Our children's medical center has one of only two pediatric oncology units in metro Phoenix. Banner Desert, with more than 100 board certified cancer physicians, offers:

  • Four Medical Oncologist physican groups
  • A Radiation Oncology Dept with four radiation oncologists
  • A Surgical Oncology division
  • Highly trained radiologists and pathologists
